About Dr. Parin Kamdar
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in New Jersey with extensive experience in psychological assessment and therapy. I earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware and a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a concentration in Psychological Assessment.
Throughout my career, I have worked in diverse clinical settings, including inpatient hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, medical rehabilitation centers and outpatient practices. My expertise encompasses the treatment of anxiety, OCD, stress, depression, low self-esteem, behavioral challenges, ADHD and related learning disabilities, developmental disorders, parenting difficulties, relationship conflicts, health-related concerns and family dynamics. Additionally, I have specialized training and experience in the treatment of eating disorders, having completed internship and fellowship placements at The Renfrew Center in both Philadelphia and Florida, working in both residential and outpatient settings.
I am highly skilled in conducting and interpreting comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessments. My therapeutic approach is integrative, considering the whole individual—cognitive, behavioral, emotional, physiological and spiritual aspects—to create a personalized and effective treatment plan. I utilize evidence-based interventions, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal therapy and family systems approaches.
I work with children, adolescents, adults and parents, helping them harness their inherent strengths to navigate the complexities of academic, social, professional and family life with confidence and resilience.

My Approach
My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and is designed to support overall mental health and well-being. I offer a range of clinical services, including individual, couples, family and parent therapy, as well as psychosocial assessments, coaching and targeted interventions for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, eating difficulties and relational challenges.
As a licensed psychologist, I draw from an integrative framework, combining cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) within a psychodynamic lens. This allows me to address both current symptoms and underlying patterns, fostering long-term growth and resilience. Additionally, I incorporate mindfulness techniques to enhance self-awareness, develop coping strategies and promote personal well-being.
At this time, services are offered exclusively via telehealth, providing accessible and flexible care for individuals across various age groups. My APIT Certification (Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology) also enables me to extend services across state lines, making care available to those navigating transitions such as college, boarding school, relocation, summer programs or travel.
Engaging in psychotherapy is a collaborative process centered on growth, self-exploration and building resilience in the face of life’s challenges. While therapy may evoke a range of emotions, including discomfort, it also offers an opportunity to develop healthier coping mechanisms and work toward meaningful change. Consistency, commitment and collaboration are key to maximizing the benefits of therapy, allowing individuals to gain clarity, strengthen relationships and enhance overall well-being.
